Blurbs: Innocent Words Review
Little review from innocentwords.com
When you check into Pete International Airport, things are going to get really trippy. No passport is required on this retro-neo-psychodelic voyage through headspace. As you sit back and enjoy the swirling atmosphere of Pete International Airport’s lush and layered guitars, keys, and even a sitar, memories of Led Zeppin [sic] (Physical Graffiti-era) are stirred on the song “Repeater” and perhaps even “Monster Mash”/”Rock Lobster” on “Idioms for Dummies.”
Sure, there are strange bits, dark moments, and a whole lot of noise (some primal screaming and freakish chanting) – it’s the quirkiness that makes it such an interesting listen. People who are into diverse music will love this record. Likewise, if you’re into getting herbal with a couple of friends and sitting in the dark with a lava lamp, Pete International Airport will provide one heck of a stunning soundtrack. The 11-minute love song “I Care” is a perfect wrap to the eclectic and strangely dreamy introduction to this exciting new band, based around Peter Holmstrom of The Dandy Warhols, with help from his pals in the Brian Jones Massacre and the Warlocks, to name a few.
